Our Philosophy

Building confident learners for a changing world

Answers are everywhere. Understanding is rare. We teach kids how to think, not just what to think. That's what prepares them for what's next.

Real understanding over shortcuts

AI tools can produce an essay in seconds. They cannot teach your child to think critically, argue clearly, or solve problems under pressure. We build the real thing.

Vetted educators, not strangers

Every tutor in our collective is a certified teacher or specialist with a background check. Your child works with people who know how learning actually works.

Skills that travel with them

We are not here to get your child through the next test. We are here to build the habits, strategies, and confidence that stay with them through high school, university, and beyond.

Preparing students for what's next

The world our children are growing up in looks very different than the one we grew up in. Information is everywhere, and AI tools can generate answers in seconds.

But answers alone are not enough.

In a world where answers are available instantly, understanding matters more than ever. Students still need to think critically, communicate clearly, solve problems, evaluate information, and make good decisions. Those are the skills that will help them succeed no matter how technology changes.

At Future Minds Collective, we embrace new tools while helping students build the understanding and confidence that technology cannot replace.

Who We Are

Educators who care about the long game

Future Minds Collective was founded by two Durham Region educators who got tired of watching students chase grades instead of building skills.

KP
Co-Founder

Kathleen Pierce

Kathleen is a university educator with more than 15 years of teaching experience. As both an educator and parent, she is passionate about helping students build confidence, curiosity, and strong learning habits that last beyond the classroom.

SP
Co-Founder

Steve Pierce

Steve is an Ontario-certified high school math teacher who helps students understand difficult concepts without simply giving them the answer. He believes strong foundations and confidence are the keys to long-term success.

"We started Future Minds Collective because we believe every student deserves an educator who is invested in their growth, not just their grade."
